n the mid of 2000 after
my high school year in Colorado, USA, my parents and me decided that
the best next course to take would be to study in Poland so that I
could begin learning my parents' mother tongue whilst being able to
study at the same time. In retrospect, it was very refreshing
and interesting to have experienced a whole new kind of mentality:
a post socialistic kind, one could say. My studies took place
at the "School of Business
- National-Louis University" in Nowy Sacz. By mid-2003, I had
successfully completed all the required courses of my Management and
Marketing studies. The only thing separating me from my degree was
the bachelor thesis.
As it didn't seem possible
to write a descent thesis together with a Polish company I chose to
return to Germany. It was not long before I experienced my first taste
of Management Consulting when I was hired by "Kienbaum Management Consultants" for
an internship. Kienbaum is one of Germany's largest consultancies
highly specialized in Human Resource Management. Working in the CEO's
Office was a quite rewarding experience. After three months of
a 12-14 hours working day, I was offered a further three months together
with the opportunity to write my thesis for Kienbaum after
the internship. I signed the papers and kept on working. By the end
of January 2004 I finished writing my thesis concerning the knowledge
management in consulting companies ("Identifying the Needs of
a Management Consulting Company towards a Document Management System").
I received honors for "outstanding quality and content".
At this point in time, Monash University in Melbourne is awaiting
me to commence my Master's of International Business at the end of
July; I intend to stay in Australia till the end of my masters - probably
in December 2005.
For two months now, I have been
on an internship with "SAP" in Walldorf, Germany, the world's third largest
independent software vendor. SAP employs over 30,500 people,
generates over €7,1 billion revenue annually and is the
global market leader for standard business applications. As part
of the Business Consulting department I have the chance to contribute
to several big client projects but am also part of an international
knowledge-management team. Specializing in Customer Management and
Service Industries, the main focus of my project is put on Customer
Asset Management in the context of Customer Relationship Management.
I
wish you the very best. Hope to hear from you soon!
Live
your dreams,
Victor
